UTENSILS, COOKING, CORROSION-RESISTING STEEL
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description
(CID), for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This commercial item description (CID) covers corrosion-resisting steel cooking utensils for use with field food service equipment.
2. CLASSIFICATION
2.1 Classification. The cooking utensils shall be of the following types, styles, and sizes as specified (see 7.1):
Type I - Fork, food preparation, 2-tine Type II - Spoon, food service, basting Type III - Food turner
Style 1 - Handle with hook
Style 2 - Handle with hole
Size 1 - 15 inches long
Size 2 - 21 inches long
3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
3.1 Construction. The utensils covered by this CID shall be made of 300 series stainless steel conforming to ASTM A 240. The fork shall be made of a minimum of 13-gauge and the spoon
